It's been a really, really cold winter this year.
No matter at home or at work, I can feel a gust of cloudy wind cooling my back ……
When I go to bed at night, I still wake up freezing !!!!!!

I. Some basic information about blankets

1.Common materials used to make blankets

At present, most of the fabrics on the market are made of acrylic and polyester fibers. This is because: one material is easy to obtain and can be produced on a large scale;

Secondly, the price is good and ordinary people can consume it;

Thirdly, the fiber strength is good and can be brushed with pile, and it does not shed hair. The acrylic ones are usually acrylic due to their wool-like properties. So those on the market that are moderately priced and dare to be called wool blankets are generally acrylic. Due to the scale of production of superfine polyester fibres and the fact that polyester fibres are generally cheaper than acrylic fibres, many blankets, especially those for spring and autumn. Or for resting in air-conditioned rooms, are now made of polyester brushed or cut pile fabrics.

2.The process of making blankets

Textile fibre - weaving embryo fabric - dyeing or printing - shaping - brushing and ironing - shaking - finished fabric - cutting - Sewing - Inspection and packaging.

3.Varieties of blankets

For example, acrylic blanket has many varieties, such as vertical pile blanket, smooth wool blanket, velvet blanket, etc. From the colour can also be divided into jacquard blanket, plaid blanket, plain blanket, etc. Polyester blankets include coral fleece and shaker fleece. Recently, in order to meet the concept of environmental protection, people also use pile cotton and other materials to compound into blankets, but the price is not expensive.

4.Price of blankets

It is easy to see that any difference in the production process and the fibres used in the blanket will cause a difference in the price of the finished blanket. Even if the material is the same, the pattern is the same, the size is the same, but the finishing process is different and the weight of the fabric is different, resulting in a difference in the final blanket price. Of course, the logistics of the blanket can also make a difference to the price, for example, different sources of purchase and different shops. So it's not surprising that if you look at the pictures online, the price of a blanket can sometimes be very different.

II, the selection method of blanket

1.Choose according to comfort
Animal fur blankets are made of animal hair or fine fleece. Obviously, some ordinary animal hair may be hard and unsuitable for covering, so they can be made into thicker blankets to cover the quilts; While ordinary fleece blankets have fine and comfortable hair. So they can be made into thinner blankets to be used as air-conditioning quilts or air-conditioning blankets in summer; the comfort level of chemical fiber blankets also varies, and acrylic has the name of synthetic "wool". Acrylic is known as synthetic "wool", so it is very comfortable and soft, while polyester may have a stuffy feeling, easy to carry static electricity, the comfort is not so good.

2.Choose according to wear resistance
In addition to comfort, the strength and abrasion resistance of a blanket is one of the factors consumers consider when buying. Animal fur blankets are made of raw animal fur, and their abrasion resistance is better than the general material; while the point to note about fibre blankets is that they are prone to pilling, and some thin blankets made of looser synthetic fibres may have this status; of course, the elasticity and strength of acrylic and polyester are far more than raw animal fur, and have good conformability.

3.Choose according to blanket size
The size depends on who is using it or what it is for. For example, domestic baby blankets are generally 90cm*110cm; children's blankets are generally 100cm*140cm; adults use 150cm*200cm, and taller ones can use 230cm or longer. If coral velvet is used as a bed sheet, 1.8m wide blanket can be used for a 150cm bed; 200cm wide for a 180cm bed.

4.choose according to the thinness of the blanket
The thickness should be moderate, the blanket is too thick and too big, very difficult to clean; too thin can not keep warm. In winter, you should use a double-layer thickened one, and in the air-conditioned room, a single-layer double-sided pulling wool is available in late spring or early autumn.
